DCCDC is focused on working with policymakers, philanthropists, and corporations to direct resources toward communities experiencing economic injustice in Washington, DC.

The Ward 8 Community Investment Fund (W8CIF), is a community-led place-based funding opportunity offering “grants-secured loans” to Ward 8 resident-entrepreneurs, and small businesses. 

Grant secured loans are an innovative financial product developed by and for Black entrepreneurs in partnership with elected officials, DSLBD, and a small business focused CDFI.

Final Awardees will be announced via email by Wednesday, September 11th 2024. Thank you to all who applied!

W8CIF Application & Process

DCCDC is now accepting applicants for the W8CIF Round II. The application will remain open until Monday, July 8th at 11:59pm.

Afterwards, a Grant Review Committee (as nominated by Ward 8 community members), will select approximately 40-50 awardees, including the Youth Entrepreneurs Grantees, for approximately $800K in funding.

Virtual Information Sessions

DCCDC is hosting weekly virtual information sessions every Thursday at 6pm for the Ward 8 Community Investment Fund. Join us to learn about funding support for Ward 8 aspiring entrepreneurs, small businesses, and visionaries.

Do you know a Ward 8 Resident or Ward 8 Business Owner who is passionate about supporting local entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth in Ward 8?

 

We will be accepting nominations for the Ward 8 Community Investment Fund’s Grant Review Committee. Review Committee members will play a crucial role in evaluating funding applications.
